Several Cape Beaches Closed For Bacterial Issues

Dozens of beaches statewide are closed for various reasons, including high bacterial counts.  

These beaches are closed:  

Barnstable: Keyes Beach (Sea Street), Bacterial Exceedance  

Chatham: Bucks Creek, Bacterial Exceedance 

Dennis: Clipper Lane, Bacterial Exceedance 

Mashpee: John’s Pond (Public), Harmful Cyanobacteria Bloom 

Nahant: Black Rock, Bacterial Exceedance 

Provincetown: 637 Commercial Street, Bacterial Exceedance 

Truro: Longnook Beach, Unspecified Reason 

Yarmouth: Vernon Street, Bacterial Exceedance 

It is unclear how long the beaches will be closed.
