Provincetown has been dealing with a problem with their gravity-sewer systems for the the past few days.
They have been asking residents and businesses to cut back on their water usage so they could try to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately this morning, they've had to take it a step further by announcing a sewer emergency in the areas on Commercial St. from Snow St. to Point St. and on Bradford St. between Conwell St. & Prince St.
All restaurants and food service businesses in both areas must cease operations immediately!
And they are still looking for help from residents, asking them to cut WAY back on any kind of dishwashing, laundry & showering...and only flushing when absolutely necessary!
Under these conditions, they hope to have the problem solved in a couple of days.
