Henri will be the first hurricane to make direct landfall on New England in 30 years!
In these early morning hours, Cape Cod is starting to feel the effects of Hurricane Henri.
Rain is already falling on some parts of the Cape, but the winds are starting to pick up everywhere!
The worst of the weather is expected to affect us between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. today.
High winds could cause power outages, and utility crews are already staged on the Cape to be able to respond to any problems are quickly as possible.
Currently, wind gusts are blowing at over 20 mph, but forecasters expect tropical storm force winds of over 40 mph to be a part of this storm as the day moves along.
The high winds could also cause coastal flooding and beach erosion with possible tide surges of 3-5 ft.
Please stay safe...and always follow the guidance of local emergency management
