Plymouth is getting ready to help celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing in the New World! What the town didn't need was another attack by vandals on Plymouth Rock.
Unfortunately, that's just what happened on Monday.
This is SO crazy!
What makes people do this kind of thing?!
I would have thought that there would be some kind of cameras inside or near the big granite canopy that covers the rock...especially because vandals have struck it in the past, but I'm not sure. I hope they somehow find some video so they can catch the person or people responsible and throw their butts in jail!
There's a deep drop from the observation area to the rock itself, but it is not impossible to get down there. I guess it's time to find a way to try to make it a little more inaccessible.
The good news, they were able to remove the paint and have it cleaned up by noon.
And the rock wasn't the only things hit with graffiti! There were statues, benches and commemorative decorated shells also damaged.
