What Do You Think About Changing The Date Of Halloween?!

October 31st could soon be just another date on the calendar!

There is a petition that has been building for the past year which is starting gain some steam! It was started by the Halloween & Costume Association...and it's goal is to change the date of Halloween from October 31st to the last Saturday in October. That would put Halloween this year on October 26th!

The HCA is asking people to sign their petition...and if it reaches 75,000 signatures, they will send it to President Trump for his consideration.

So you must be thinking, why is this necessary?!

Well, the HCA points out that having trick-or-treating on a Saturday will make it easier for parents to take their children out for trick-or-treating. Plus, they've submitted research from a study that found that Halloween has more pedestrian traffic deaths than any other day of the year!

On the first point, I guess I can see that argument. Parents who are tired and have been working all day might like to be able to take the night off from walking all around the neighborhood with their kids for candy. Plus, it may be easier to deal with a "sugar high" on a weekend instead of on a school night!

On the second point, I'm not sure that moving the date would do anything more than just move that particular statistic to a different day of the year...so I'm not buying that one.

But, if you think this is a good idea and want more info on the petition...read more about it by CLICKING HERE!.
