It's been 2 years, but the U.S. Coast Guard finally revealed on Friday the details into its concluded investigation into the crash of the Steamship Authority ferry, Iyanough into the Hyannis Port breakwater back in June of 2017.
According to the report, the contributing factors included a lack of familiarity and training with the vessel by one of the officers...and a perceptual confusion related to the radar by another.
Wow...that took 2 years, huh?!
I don't know about you, but I have heard so many different rumors and innuendo from people "in the know" on what happened on that ferry to cause such a distraction to the officers in the pilot house to have it miss the mark by so much.
The good thing with this finally being released is that a lot of those stories can now be put to rest.
