I'm not a big soccer fan at all! I just can't seem to get into the game
And it's not like I haven't given it a chance! I mean, I'm a Portuguese guy who was born and raised in New Bedford, where just about every TV in any north end bar is tuned to a soccer match of some kind! Plus, our high school had one of the best programs in the state in my years!
However, I do tune into the World Cup! It's kind of like when the Olympics roll around...my love of Team USA gets me to follow it non-stop!
Well, the Women's World Cup began last Friday in France...and the ladies are in action now for the first time in the tournament against Thailand. And just in case, like me, you don't really follow the sport, here's something you may not know...
Team USA is ranked #1 in the world!
In fact, we are one of the favorites to win the Cup this year!
Oh, and by way of comparison, the men of Team USA are ranked 24th in the world! Ladies rule...GO TEAM USA!
