This whole self-driving car thing scares me!
I don't know if I ever want to put my life in the hands of a computer to drive me around! And I know they say that you'll be able to take control at anytime while riding in one. But, if that's the case, and I still have to pay attention to the roads...I'd rather just take the wheel myself!
Anyway, MIT has been taking a worldwide poll using what it calls the Moral Machine...and the results could then be programmed into these self-driving cars in what to in an "accident situation".
For example, if given the choice, should a self-driving car hit...
- a human or an animal?!
- an old person or a young person?!
- a man or a woman?!
