Fergie sure took a lot of heat for her rendition of the National Anthem that she sang before Sunday's NBA All-Star Game!
I was watching the Olympics, so I didn't see it live. In fact, I just watched it for the first time early this morning.
Now, there is no question that she did it in more of a "lounge singer" style...but I don't think she was trying to be disrespectful! I think she just wanted to put her own spin on the song! In case you missed it, here's what it sounded like...
It's definitely different...but I don't think it's worthy of all of the harsh criticism!
Oh, and by the way...back in 1983, another famous singer put his own spin on the National Anthem before the NBA All-Star Game! Now, granted, it was Marvin Gaye...and his rendition was AWESOME...but still, it was different from the normal rendition!
