It sounds like something out of dream but it did happen to two teenage girls who were fans of the Beatles hanging out at Abbey Road.
Lizzie Bravo, the Beatles fan who Paul McCartney invited into Abbey Road Studios in 1968, died on October 4th. 16 at the time, she and her friend Gayleen Pease, who also died this year, sang high harmonies on “Across the Universe.” The version they sang on was included on the December 1969 album No One’s Gonna Change Our World, a benefit disc for the World Wildlife Fund. It was later reissued on the British and American versions of The Beatles’ Rarities album in 1978 and on the second disc of the two-CD Past Masters in 1988. Both Lizzie and Gayleen were 70.
Below we have a video of Lizzie & Gayleen remembering the moments and the mix that they were featured in.
