Foxboro Forever: Number 11 Retires A Patriot

Julian Edelman has retired from the NFL. His announcement video as seen below is both happy & sad. Happy that one of the toughest Pats of all time is actually retiring after a great career and we're sad to see him go but happy again that he can enjoy life with his family.

From tossing TD's as a slot receiver (possibly the best ever in that position) to the Super Bowl catch that will live forever in highlight reels Julian Edelman is a legend in New England.

It will be a bummer not seeing him line up with the offence this year but who knows - you may just catch him this summer tossing the pigskin from the 2nd level of the Wellfleet Beachcomber to fans below.

I've covered several Best Buddies Cape Cod events and I remember in 2014 waiting to interview some of the participants when the first riders were crossing the finish line at Craigville Beach I was excited to meet and ask number 11 some questions about being a part of the event that he is now an Honorary Co-Chair.

After being told by a race official that Julian had finished up front and I searched all over for him. I was thinking does this guys competitive edge ever rest :)

I found him far from the crowds getting ready to head off in an SUV.. While loading his gear I introduced myself and he said he was excited to be a part of an event that is so special to so many. Before he left he signed my Pats helmet which includes Tom Brady, Bill Belichick , Gronk & More...

Julian Edelman is a Pats Hall Of Famer and will be forever a big part of the dynasty.

He's also a master at social media as his retirement video shows.
