My Cape Cod Encounter With The Masked Singer's Phoenix

Last night on the Masked Singer the Phoenix was eliminated... The person behind the mask was Caitlyn Jenner.

Back in 2016 on June 30th I was invited to attend a sold out fundraiser inside the Provincetown Town Hall for Camp Lightbulb.

Lightbulb is a summer camp for LGBTQ young people between the ages of 14 and 17.

The evening featured a talent show starring not only the kids from the camp but many local performers as well.

The guest star that night was Caitlyn Jenner and when everyone was coming into the auditorium I was busy snapping pics. The word was out they'll be no asking for autographs or selfies and I was cool with that BUT it wasn't going to stop me from at the very least introducing myself.

When the moment was right I approached and sat next to Caitlyn and thanked her for coming to support the kids... She asked who I was and what I did here on the Cape. I mentioned that I am on the air on 2 iHeart radio stations. She asked what the formats were and was impressed that i could approach two very different formats on a daily basis.

After a little more conversation we shook hands and I remember thinking that was the biggest hand I've ever shook.

Caitlyn spoke to the crowd about the challenges the kids face and how community support - much like Ptown offers - is so important.
