As an avid photographer who hikes the Outer Cape in the Winter i've had more than a few encounters with Snowy Owls. From Eastham to Ptown i've seen them and have had the honor of capturing images...
The first time I ever saw one was many years ago in Dennis but that doesn't count. They were there at the beach and hundreds flocked to see and photograph them.
I like my way... Hiking forever, far away from anyone and coming across them in their natural glory. It happened again on Saturday - I was out around 6 in the dark when something flew by me catching my attention. Thinking it might be a snowy i made basecamp where i was and sat around until first light appeared (about a half hour) to confirm my suspicion.
Mission accomplished and although i was pretty far away from it and there was no true sunrise i snapped away until the snowy decided i'm out and flew off..
