After much speculation, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have decided to end their marriage after ten years.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Simpson explained that she and Johnson have been living "separately" while navigating a "painful situation." She said, "Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
Jessica first sparked rumors that her marriage was in trouble as she shared several photos to her Instagram from a Nashville studio, teasing that she had new music on the way. She wrote very cryptically, "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."
While fans mostly expressed they were excited for Jess' comeback, several fans asked in the comments if Simpson was referring to her marriage with the caption (particular the word "singular"), with one fan writing, "Is this j simp saying she’s single?" While another wrote, "Sounds like a breakup album to me."
Jessica has also been spotted with out her wedding rings recently, which has also fueled the rumors her and Eric's marriage was on the rocks.
Simpson and Johnson have been married for ten years after tying the knot in July 2014, and having dated for four years. They share three children together, Maxwell (12), Ace (11) and Birdie (5).
