A man from Mashpee has been arrested and charged with stealing tens of thousands of dollars in security deposits in a Boston scam.
40-year-old Timothy Andreev was arraigned on a variety of charges in East Boston District Court Thursday.
Prosecutors say that he allegedly created Facebook Ads to arrange times to see an apartment, take a deposit from the prospective renter and then block them on Facebook.
Officials say he pocketed more than 30 thousand dollars.
Police are urging people to come forward if they were scammed.
