Pet Of The Week: Lorelai

Meet Lorelai!

Lorelai is a one-and-a-half-year-old, long-haired, possibly a sheltie-type, guinea pig.

Guinea pigs can be very social animals, as is the case with Lorelai! She enjoys being pet, brushed and especially being held. Guinea pigs typically enjoy living with a fellow guinea pig, and Lorelai previously lived with a male guinea pig, so she would definitely be a candidate for having a second guinea pig in the home.

With her long fur, Lorelai needs to be groomed every day to keep her coat tangle free and in good shape.

Despite their size, guinea pigs do require ample space. A large cage is ideal and they need to spend time outside of their cage every day to get exercise and fulfill their desire to explore. Daily interaction and attention are essential for a guinea pig’s well-being.
