Chatham Officials Seek Community Help With Buoy Issue

Chatham officials are asking members of the commercial and recreational boating communities to write to the Coast Guard opposing their effort to dis-establish the Chatham Beach Lighted Whistle Buoy.

Chatham officials say the buoy is heavily relied on by mariners as the only inshore aid to navigation near the town.

Officials say removal would increase danger in that area. They would like all affected to get their comments to the Coast Guard by February 7th.
