Lori Loughlin Thinks She's Being Penalized In Scam Because She's Famous

Felicity Huffman appeared in court on Monday (May 13) to formally plead guilty for her involvement in the college admissions scandal. Prosecutors recommended Huffman spend four months in jail for her crimes. According to source close to Lori Loughlin, the actress has been following Huffman's case closely. Unlike Huffman, Loughlin has no plans to plead guilty for her own alleged involvement in the scam. If convicted, she faces up to 40 years in prison.

“Lori is watching Felicity’s case very closely,” the source told People. “She’s relieved that it doesn’t look like the prosecution is making an example of Felicity, and is adhering to the law.”

“Her big worry was that she would be treated unfairly as one of the more famous people involved in the case,” the source explained. “She’s afraid of being penalized for her fame, but it looks like prosecutors may be making a good faith effort to treat each defendant fairly."

Huffman, though, has been cooperative since the beginning, while Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Gianulli have not. This may mean the prosecution will come down harder on them during their trial. Huffman's bribes reportedly consisted of 15k, as well, while Loughlin's was reportedly 500k.

Another source revealed that Loughlin's legal woes are her primary focus right now. “Since Lori isn’t working, this is the focus for her,” the source told People. “It’s obviously not the healthiest focus. She still seems stressed and worried about the future. It’s kind of like this surreal situation.” We'll just have to wait and see how this all shakes out for Loughlin and Gianulli.
