Pet Of The Week: Jake

Meet Jake!

Jake is a 6 year old bulldog mix seeking an active home as an only pet. Although he is an active and playful dude, he is also nervous meeting new people so a low traffic home with lots of time for play is what Jake is seeking. He will need a consistent owner who can set some ground rules, as Jake has a tendency to be rather demanding about things that he wants (barking or jumping for things).

If there were an olympic dog competition for jumping, Jake would very likely be the winner as he is often seen jumping about 4ft in the air! He will play fetch until he drops, but isn't so great about giving the ball back - you'll need another toy to trade. Jake likes to go for walks & have a good play session, and then nap doing bulldog snores.

Jake gets nervous when his human friends leave him alone so he needs a home where someone is around most of the day to be with him. An apartment might be challenging for Jake because he is a talkative dude when alone or just when he wants to let the world know about everything. He is not always comfortable around children; older teens and adults are best for him. Jake also does not like to share his things (and his favorite people) with other four legged friends, so he's looking to be an only pet.

Because Jake is timid meeting new people, his adopters will need to meet with him a few times in Brewster before taking him home, so that he can start to establish a relationship.
