Red Sox Sweep Pirates

The Red Sox blew out the Pirates 6-1 to sweep their three-game series at PNC Park.

Josh Winckowski started the game for the Sox and struck out one while allowing one run over three and a third innings pitched.

Justin Slaten collected his first win of the year after pitching a pair of scoreless innings of relief.

Wilyer Abreu and Reese McGuire each drove in a couple of runs.

Boston improved to 13-and-10.

Martin Perez was charged with the loss after allowing four runs on six hits over four innings of work.

Ke'Bryan Hayes led the way at the plate after going two for three with a sac fly.

Pittsburgh dropped to 11-and-11.
