Outermost Contra Dance

Wellfleet Preservation Hall

Step lively to great fiddling and dynamic calling at our monthly contra dance!

CALLER: Tod Whittemore

MUSICIANS: Billy Hardy, Beth Sweeney

Outermost Contra is thrilled to present long-time caller Tod Whittemore. Tod is known for his fun contra dances and “singing squares.” Tod has called dances all over the world, and is known for his humor, energy, and infectious love of dancing.

Tod will be calling to the great music of local Eastham musicians, Billy Hardy and Beth Sweeney on fiddle and piano. Music from the Scottish, Irish, French-Canadian, Bluegrass and Appalachian fiddle traditions will inspire you to get up and dance!

Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. If you’re new to contra dance, or just want to polish your skills be sure to come at 6:30 for a “Contra Skills” workshop.

Come to dance or come just to listen. All are welcome. Admission is $15, $10 for those under 30, $5 with student ID
